WHY I’M RUNNING

Protecting Texas Values, Serving Kendall County

As a native Texan, I stand firm in our conservative values — respect for life, liberty, privacy, and the rule of law. With decades of service as a U.S. Marine, minister, CIA officer, and community leader, I bring experience, wisdom, and integrity to my duties as your Justice of the Peace in Precinct 2. I would be honored to earn your vote for re-election this November.

Meet Dave

Justice Dave Neighbor is a native Texan and a proud conservative who has dedicated his life to service—first as a U.S. Marine, then as a minister, a career CIA officer, a national security advisor, and a community mentor. His leadership has reached from the battlefield to the classroom, and from Washington, D.C. to right here in Kendall County. He has advised Cabinet officials, military commanders, and law enforcement leaders, all while staying grounded in faith, family, and the foundational values of life, liberty, and the rule of law.

Dave has brought integrity, discipline, and common-sense judgment to the bench. A firm believer in accountability and local leadership, he continues to serve the community he loves with honor, transparency, and a commitment to protecting constitutional rights. Dave is seeking re-election to continue serving Kendall County with fairness, compassion, and conservative principles.

On the Bench

Since taking office as your Justice of the Peace, Justice Dave Neighbor has brought steady, principled leadership to the courtroom. He has handled a wide range of cases with fairness and efficiency, applying the law with a firm but compassionate hand.

His responsibilities include:

  • Presiding over Class C misdemeanor trials, including traffic and public order offenses

  • Adjudicating civil and small claims cases involving disputes under $20,000

  • Overseeing eviction hearings, protecting property rights while ensuring due process

  • Conducting inquests into more than 50 unattended or unexpected deaths

  • Serving as a magistrate at the county jail, where he has reviewed thousands of cases to set bond amounts and release conditions

Beyond the bench, Justice Dave Neighbor is active in reform efforts, serving on two advisory panels aimed at improving outcomes for individuals with behavioral health challenges in the justice system. He also works closely with local schools and law enforcement to address chronic truancy and keep students on the right path.
